Kauvery Hospital is one of India’s fastest-growing multispeciality hospital chains with a capacity to accommodate 2500+ patients. They have strong presence in Tier 2 and Tier 3 towns in South India.

 

The primary digital touch point for patients with Kauvery hospitals is through the Kauvery Kare mobile app – a patient experience platform developed by Siam Computing.

About the project

Lighterside of Real Estate

Kauvery Kare is a patient-centric mobile app encompassing all services offered by Kauvery Hospitals. This app streamlines patient interactions, improves accessibility to healthcare services, helps patients track and manage health records, and enhances overall patient experience.

 

There has been a significant shift in the behavior of healthcare consumers post-COVID and more people are demanding healthcare services from the comfort of their homes. Kauvery Kare addresses this changing dynamic of customer behavior and needs.

 

It was developed with the future in mind to give the Kauvery Hospitals a competitive edge for the next 10 years as the healthcare facility evolves and builds more capabilities to cater to next-generation digital-first customers.

Limited functionality of existing app

Kauvery’s previous app was built during the COVID-19 pandemic for remote consultations. In the post-Covid era, there is an inherent need to provide a holistic patient experience beyond just online consultations.

Shifting trends in patient demographic

GenZ and Millennials are the new healthcare decision-makers. They avail hospital services as either patients or as caretakers of patients. However, healthcare providers fail to deliver seamless digital healthcare experiences to these next-gen consumers.

Addressing operational inefficiency

The Indian healthcare experience is broken – long queues in hospital receptions, pharmacies, and billing counters negatively impact patient experience and healthcare deliverability.

One-stop healthcare platform

There was a need for a platform where patients could discover various specialty services offered by different branches of the Kauvery Hospitals group. This had to be done while maintaining unique identifiers for patients availing these services.

Shift to value-based care

There is a shift in the healthcare landscape from reactive care to preemptive care and disease management. This necessitates digital-first personalized treatment pathways where healthcare adherence, treatment, and outcomes can be managed and tracked.

Patient-centric app experience

Our team interviewed patients and key healthcare stakeholders to uncover unique insights into the needs and expectations of modern healthcare consumers. The findings were mapped to features, functionalities, and user flows to provide an intuitive consumer-grade app experience.

In-hospital experience on smart phones

The app mimics all services offered by Kauvery. It has key functionalities for appointment booking and management, payments, teleconsultation, disease management, and a secure portal to share health records between patients and hospital staff. This enhances the hospital’s operation efficiency by reducing wait times and makes it convenient for the end user to avail services.

Family member health management

With a focus on empowering caretakers of patients, the Kauvery Kare platform provides tools for users to add family members to the app and remotely manage the healthcare needs of ailing relatives and friends in real-time.

Security and regulatory compliance

State-of-the-art security protocols were implemented to safeguard patient data and ensure the app meets Indian healthcare regulations. Consent by design has been implemented to ensure that only authorized family members and hospital staff can access relevant patient data.

With preemptive care and lifestyle management taking center stage, the app architecture is built ready to integrate with IoMT devices like fitness trackers and glucose monitors, for a holistic healthcare experience.
