Edition 39 - Top Affiliate Marketing Trends to watch in 2019!

Affiliate marketing has been in vogue ever since leading e-commerce websites identified it as one of the most high-growth avenues within the digital marketing realm. A study conducted by Forrester Consulting predicted that affiliate marketing will go through an annual growth rate of 10 percent by 2020. The sector is definitely burgeoning, which makes it imperative to map its future trends so that companies can align their affiliate strategies accordingly. To that end, here is a compilation of some trends that are likely to dominate affiliate marketing in 2019. 

Through history there is a clear search for more and more convenient forms of money. The basic bartering of my hunting for your gathering eventually was replaced by a number of prehistoric tokens such as cowry shells, salt or cereals that were easier to transport and store than the goods that were being exchanged in trade. Those basic tokens were eventually replaced by precious metals that were even more convenient, and those precious metals were replaced by coins, asset-backed currency and nowadays floating currency that exists only as ones and zeros in some databases. Cryptocurrencies are a new form of money, but a specific token will only be successful if it manages to be convenient enough.

The late Stephen Hawking famously said that artificial intelligence would be “either the best, or the worst thing, ever to happen to humanity.” It can be fair to say there have already seen positive signs about how AI might shape and assist with documentation in the future. A number of tech companies have already dipped their toes into the water, with some developing AI-assisted, predictive content generation and others harnessing machine learning to predict the help content the end-user is looking for. Google introduced its natural language processing development, Smart Compose, to help Gmail users write emails in May 2018.

At the end of 2015, the Alibaba tech team released its enabling platform strategy for constructing organization and business mechanisms based on the creative and flexible concept of “Large Enabling platform, Small Frontend.” The basis of this concept is making the frontend agiler and giving it the ability to quickly adapt to the market, while the enabling platform is used to incorporate digital operation and products and technologies capacities to provide strong support for various frontline services. A crucial link in Alibaba’s enabling platform layout chain is allowing the enabling platform to handle search. However, this exposes the search enabling platform to huge challenges regarding techniques and products as a result of the intrinsic complexity and large business scale of search technologies.

In a growing company, the amount of work is endless. Often there is work that has accumulated and needs to get done immediately. Other times, everything might be caught up and working well.
